In the Sierra, the old adage holds true: the harder it is to get there, the more beautiful the destination. And Valdelarco is a good example. This mountain village is located within the lushest area of the local forests and can only be accessed by a single road. Due to its location, it enjoys an exceptional natural environment of fertile orchards and fields, streams and wooded areas that transport the visitor to more northern landscapes, but with the advantages of the Andalusian climate. An idyllic setting in which to practice hiking, horticulture or develop your knowledge on botany, astronomy or mycology.

The cogujada house itself was built in time immemorial with traditional masonry and rammed earth walls, using rounded beams and with a tile roof. It preserves the popular character of the local architecture, with a large fireplace, cobblestones, cement tiles and antique woodwork. Morphologically, it could be said that they are two houses that were joined together, the first one being used as a residence and the other as a stable or warehouse and an old zarzo (used to dry nuts) in the rear. Towards the corral there are excavated auxiliary outbuildings that provide unusual spaces in this region. The entire floor has a very large attic on where you can act at will, since both heights would are valid for residential use. Given its location on urban land, the property has access to water and electricity supply, as well as sewerage.

But its most distinctive feature is undoubtedly the large corral at the rear, with 210m² of land suitable for a vegetable garden, a garden, a swimming pool or similar uses. Its elevated position, the absence of tall buildings and its north-south orientation provide natural lighting throughout the entire day.

This house adds to our series of unique projects carried out to highlight the possibilities of intelligent renovation. In this particular case we have chosen to give the protagonism to the relationship of the house with its extensive yard. We used the structure of the double house to rehabilitate the one in better condition (on the right) and build a more comfortable and luminous access to the corral over the old farming premises.

Both the plans and the preliminary economic study of the renovation of the house are available for visits. You can contact us by following this link, we will be happy to show you the house, the land and its possibilities.
